As Abby was getting older, I always fantasized about taking her berry picking and envisioning a bounty of berries. Then we would head home from our hard work and make jam. Well things didn't go the way I had planned. It was a lot of fun, but the way I pictured it was a bit different (he he he he he).
Abby was all over the place. The guy said to stay in a certain area. I explained this to Abby, but since she picks strawberries with Grandpa Brown at his house, she is the expert. She also decided to throw the rotten ones ( I am thankful they didn't hit other pickers). Then Ruby started eating dirt.....why do babies think dirt tastes good? So I gave her some strawberries to eat. When she ate those, she decided to eat the rotten ones on the ground. YUCK!
The attention span of both girls didn't last long, so the bounty of berries I was hoping for didn't quiet work out. We did get a lot so I popped them in the freezer for later.
After picking we went to the little play area and enjoyed some free time. Abby loved the tractor bikes!
Ruby was just done! She was ready to go! Poor Abby had to leave her tractor behind. Uncle Kyle would have been so proud!

The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby
Ruby has been my little dare devil lately. She climbs on everything! The other night I turned my head for a second and she was standing on Abby's coloring table!
She loves to be outside, but hates the grass. She bear crawls every where outside.I also caught her climbing the slide to the swing set. She almost got to the top. Tough little thing!
She loves the swing, and loves to play with anything with buckles. She was playing with the buckles on the swing.
And of course....I can't leave Ruby's side kick out! She is such a wonderful BIG sister. I am so proud of my two beautiful girls!

Friends
Saturday night Daniel and I had some friends come over for dinner. As Daniel was preparing a yummy meal he cut into an avocado and the pit split open too! He ended up slicing his hand open. Our wonderful friend Tim put him back together again!
This is Emma. She is Ruby Mae's first friend. She is only a couple months younger than Ruby, and is just a tiny little peanut. We all adore her. When her parents Hayley and Scott brought her in both girls squealed!
They love each other so much. They hug and kiss each other, and play so well together.
Abby and Riley had fun too. Riley just turned 2 so Abby was our big girl for the night. She was so good, and played well with everyone! All of the grown ups had a great time, relaxing and chatting as the kids played so well. We really need to do it again! I just wish we had a bigger house!
So the other day the girls were in Abby's room playing. It all of a sudden got really quiet, so of course I peeked in. This is what I saw: Ruby in Abby's doll stroller. Abby looks kind of weird in this picture, but it was the best one to show what they were doing. Ruby is really into climbing on to chairs and sitting and standing on them. She crawled into the stroller herself, and Abby decided to take her for a ride.

One last story:
The other day Abby was in the bathroom going potty. As usual she called me in to wipe her because she went poo. I walked in and she said in a whiny dramatic voice, "mommy, when I went poop I had tortilla"
I was like, "What?" Then I spotted her poo job. She has diarrhea. So I said, "do you mean diarrhea?" and she did! Too funny. That's been me and Daniel's big joke lately!

Oregon Gardens
What a beautiful day. We decided to hit the Oregon Gardens. With Daniel working there we got the grand tour, tram ride and all! Both girls absolutely loved the gardens. Ruby who has been whiny and grumpy sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the view.
At lunch we had sandwiches. Ruby has been miss independent and wants to do things on her own. As soon as I gave her, her own sandwich (Abby's left overs) she was as happy as a clam. She just wanted her own. Little stinker!
This was a huge gong thing. I am really not sure the purpose, but it was a lot of fun to ring!
Abby loved the wildlife and all of the different plants. Daniel would talk to her about certain ones and she soaked it all in. I couldn't believe how well she listened and wanted to know more.
This is my attempt at getting a cute sister shot. Ruby was not having it! She wanted to go on her own and forget the picture. She had things to do and places to go.
At the children's garden there are all kinds of neat thing! This is a picture of Abby at the Hobbit hole.
Discovered a snail, and learning about what it does.
I absolutely fell in love with this bike. How cute is that?!
One of the few front view pics I have have Abby. Poor thing, every time I wanted a picture the sun was in her eyes.

Me and the girls! I am having a great time with them.
This was one of the highlights for me. How often do you see a frog on a lily pad? I love it!!!

A Little of This, a Little of That!
Once May hits work is really busy! So I have not been on top of my blogging. The first week of June was Abby's last Tball game. It was a lot of fun to see her try something new and interact with other kids. She did admit she didn't like T ball. Poor thing...she is so easy going she went a long for the ride. I think we will try soccer next time. This summer we are going to put her into swimming lessons, and maybe gymnastics.
Running home!
Papa Lee showing off his baby skills.
Abby is really into birds. Daniel has 3-4 bird feeders in our back yard, and Abby painted him a bird house for Fathers day. The other day I happened to look out the window and these huge doves where just sitting and relaxing on the swing set.
Ashlynn has lost another tooth! I am excited to have the girls play together this summer! I can't believe she is going to be 7!!
Last weekend we took an impromptu trip to the beach. It was beautiful! The sun and sand were warm and the the wind was just right for flying a kite.
Ruby loved the sand. She would rub her hands in it and then grab huge handfuls and shove in her mouth! YUCK! I would wipe it out and she would out another handful in. If she was not putting sand in her mouth she was putting sticks in her mouth.
Abby ran around with the kite and attempted to build a sand castle. When it was Daniel's turn to hold the kite he just wanted to lay and relax. So he hooked it to his belt. It was a pretty funny sight. Only he would think of something like that.
Ruby is now 11 months! She is growing and developing so much.
