4 day weekend

This weekend was a 4 day weekend for me, and it flew by! I loved being able to sleep in a little, and enjoy being at home. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but it was good to relax and spend time with my girl and hubby. Friday we cleaned out our spare room and started painting slowly turning it into Ruby's room. Then Saturday we had a garage sale, which turned out a lot better than I thought. We got rid of 3 dressers, and some other items. The proceeds from the sale went towards summer clothes for Abby. I found some killer deals at Target and Carters. We just need to get her some sandals and she is set. Well, its all over now. going back to work after a long weekend is always hard, but its only a 4 day week, and school is almost over. I am ready for a break, and to have this baby! OH....One more thing. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I really did not want that to happen. So off to a dietitian and research. I just don't want anything to happen to the baby. And part of me is scared it won't go away, because so many people on my dad's side of the family have it, and my mom has it. It' s just a scary thing...

Ruby's Baby Shower and Abby's First Swimming Lessons

May 22nd 2011 My mom and my sister-in-law threw me a baby shower for Ruby. Here are a few of the goodies they created.

It was such a special day. I really was not expecting a ton of people to come because it was my second baby. But so many people came. It was great to see friends I has not seen in a long time, and to see family members.

May 23rd, 2011 marked another important day. Abby had her first swimming lesson. It wasn't really a lesson, but a time with all the kids could get used to water and play in it for a while. At first Abby was not too sure about this, but soon enjoyed herself. By the end she cried because she had to get out. One thing to work on is listening to the teacher. That should be interesting once daddy does not go in with her. She is almost to the age where I can take her and she goes in on her own.
Blowing bubbles!

Abby and her cousin Colin learning how to get into the pool. Rolling on their stomachs then sliding in to their parent.
Cute cousins
Yeah! I got it!
I can't believe my baby is swimming!

Abby-isms

Today May 17th, 2011:
Abby: Daddy is sooooo lucky.
Me: Why is dad so lucky?
Abby: Because he is handsome.
Me (with a giggle): You're lucky too.
Abby: I am?
Me: You are so beautiful.
Abby: I am lucky!

A few weeks ago at Grandma Hughes's house:
Grandma: Abby, Kyla is going to pick you up today!
Ava (a friend of Abby's): My dads name is Kyle.
Abby: My daddy's name is Babe!

I guess my pet name sticks. The funny thing is she has always called him "babe". One day when she was just talking, she had woken up from a nap and yelled "Babe!" to let Daniel know she was ready to get up!

Mean while I am 28 weeks pregnant and Ruby is moving all over the place. I can't wait to meet this little girl! I can only imagine what these two girls are going to be like together!
