Celebrations Galore!

On June 9th my class surprised me with a baby shower! I could not believe it! When I was pregnant with Abby I missed the shower because she came so early. It was really special to be able to attend this one.
My goofy class! I am really going to miss these guys. What a great group of kids. The young man in front of me in the black shirt said, "I will sit here to hid your gross feet." I laughed so hard! Feet don't look the greatest when they are swollen. I am glad he was thinking about me. LOL
These kids had huge pieces of cake and loved every bite. Some kids got seconds! I can't believe how much they can pack down.
Two of the gifts I got were hand made blankets! Loved them. Every gift was awesome and I really appreciated the time and effort the parents made planning this. Each gift will be used and I will remember who gave them to me!

Then June 11th was a BIG day for the Brown Family! Matthew Graduated from OSU!
It was so cool to see such a huge graduation! We were all so proud of him. Especially his parents. It was neat watching their huge smiles as he walked into the stadium!

This is one of my favorite pictures. He has his diploma and the weight of the world is off his shoulders.......for awhile! Such a proud graduate.

Misc.

For the past 2-3 weeks Daniel has been working his tail off to get the babies room ready. We had my staff come over for the end of the year BBQ and we wanted to get it done for the big reveal, and just in case....He also got all of the summer yard work done and our backyard looks beautiful. I am so lucky to have such a multi-talented husband. I hope our girls take after him.

OH! One more blessing, Daniel's heart is strong and healthy. We each breathed a sigh of relief when the news came.
My class threw a surprise shower for me before school was out. I will be posting that later, but the letters for Ruby's name are from one of the parents. Ignore the highchair....still finding room for that.

The other night I had a very interesting conversation with my sweet, innocent daughter. This happened as we were in her room getting P.J.s on after a bath.

Me: Abby please stay still and focus on what we are doing. You need to put your legs through the leg holes.
Abby: Was I bothering baby Ruby? (when Abby cries for no reason we tell her she is making baby Ruby upset....I know, not the best thing to tell a 3 year old. But it works most of the time).
Me: No, you are just driving mommy nuts (I said with a chuckle).
Abby: Do you have nuts?
Me: No girls do not have nuts.
Abby: Daddy has nuts huh?
Me: Yes only boys, and its not nice to talk about peoples nuts.

I have to thank my hubby Daniel for that one! Months and months ago, Abby jumped on his lap while he was watching T.V and landed on his "nuts". At that he said, "careful of my nuts kid" and of course she did forget that one!! LOLOLOL

Summer has started off great. We have every possible bird feeder in our backyard, and cute little Finches come and eat from them. Abby loves to watch them. She has pink princess "noculars" she uses to see the birds. Her and her daddy have spent many hours on our deck watching the birds.

A LIttle Scare

Last Thursday Daniel went in for a stress test. He has to do this because the Silverton Fire Dept. wanted to make sure everyone was up to par. Any ways...After about 10 minutes the doctor stopped Daniel and said he saw an irregularity. That same day a cardiologist got him in to do some further test. He thought it was a false positive, but wanted to do some extended tests. Today Daniel went in for an echo gram ( I think that's right) and a nuclear stress test. The doctors did not seem too concerned afterward so he is thinking good thoughts. We will know more about the results and get more information Thursday. I will be breathing easier when I know for sure answers. Its so hard to believe my 29 year old husband has to worry about this. However his family history is not the greatest. His grandfather died at the age of 28 with a heart attack, and his dad had a heart attack and a quadruple by-pass in his mid thirties. I can tell Daniel is worried. Not only about his health, but his position on the Fire Dept.
I can't imagine my life without him.

Tis The Season...to Graduate!

Picture it, a tiny little school called "The Little Red School House." This little school totally lives up to its name. As we walked in to see my beautiful niece graduate from Kindergarten I felt like a little person. Today a total of 8 big kid kindergartners graduated today. All proud and excited about their accomplishments!
I can't believe I used to feed this little girl a bottle and smell her baby lotion head.

Last weekend we celebrated the long awaited graduation of Wes Brown, my father-in-law! We are all so proud of him, and his hard work. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business....I think.

His wonderful kids! He has been such a great role model for each of them, and his grand kids! Matthew is about to graduate from OSU! Another celebration coming!
Our little family with dad.

Proud wife!

Among other things, today was very interesting. I met with my dietitian to talk about my gestational diabetes. Everything went well, and I am on my way to healthier eating. Daniel went in for a stress test for the fire department. After 10 minutes the Doctor stopped him and told him there was an irregularity. So he was immediately sent to the cardiologist for a look over. They think it was a false positive, but Monday they are sending him in for an echo gram (not sure if I said that right) and then to the hospital for a procedure where they put a dye inside of him to look even further. With his family background this a kind of a scary time. His grandfather past way at age 28 of a heart attack, and his dad had heart surgery in his mid-thirties. I know there is more to his dads story, but I just can't remember all of it. So I am trying to be positive for the both of us until Monday.
