I need your help. Abby will be 18 months next month and according to what I have read she should be off the
binky. When we got rid of bottles, she began to rely more on the
binky. I have tried to keep away from her when she is awake, but the whining for it can get a bit
un-nerving. I am hoping to working on it this summer. I want to at least keep it away from her when she is awake. What are some theories you have? How did you manage the
pacifier? Help!

Milo has been my only one to love that pacifier so even though he is my third this is all new to me too. He is almost 19 months and right now I'm not worrying about it because he's got some major teething going on and it's helping distract his discomfort a ton. (Plus it keeps him from biting his brothers.) The only advice I can give is to not stress over it...sometimes these things have a way of working themselves out on their own and my stress has never added to the solution.
Hi- visiting from Angela's blog- I don't have much to offer other than you are probably right to start now (while you still can)!!!
I have a two year old binkin addict!
One thing you can try is to limit the 'bink time' as we call it. You can start associating the bink with just naps. My lil Gage went from anytime bink to - it stays in the crib. Now he knows that when he's up from a nap or nighttime, the bink gets tossed on the bed :)
Now, if only I could come up with something for the nap time de-binking :)
Good luck!
I really can;t give too much advice on this as my kids didn't us ethem. But as a mom I do want to say "BE TOUGH" If you decide to conquer this at this time,go with it. Don't give up or the next time it will be harder as they know they can get you to give up. It won't be easy and you may want to just let her have it back but BE TOUGH! :)
GOOD LUCK
Don't worry!!!!! I would never let go of my binkey tell I was four because my mom took it and soooooo I think the best person to talk to would be my mom!!!! I had binkey teeth but i don't anymore so dont be to scared or worried.... hope to see ya sooooon
