My Wish

I would love to have one day of sleeping in. I am not asking to sleep in until 10am. Maybe just 8am. Is that asking much? Anyone else feel the same way??

P.S. My little blog page is kind of messed up. You have to scroll way the heck down to see my other posts. Any one know how to fix that?
Until then, I will continue to play with it and see if I can fix it.

Crazy Busy Weekend!

July has been a busy month for us. We have gone to two weddings and have celebrated 3 birthdays. I think this weekend won for busiest weekend in July by far. But it was a lot of fun and we enjoyed every minute. Friday my brother Ryan turned 28!!! I can't believe it! So we celebrated by going to the beach. We did a little shopping, ate at Mo's and then headed to the beach. Me, being the Oregonian mother, bundled poor Abby up in a sweat shirt and pants and a hat. Poor kid. I was shocked that when we got down to the beach it was actually...hold on to your seats folks.....WARM!! Shocking I know. So she eventually shed a few layers.

While shopping daddy needed a little snack. Can you tell that someone else did too!! She was seriously diving for the ice cream. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Those of you who watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 would know Kate would be freaking out by now. Not me....just a little stain stick. he he

Abby wasn't quite sure of the sand at first. But it eventually ended up in her mouth. She was helping build a sand castle. Well, Ryan and Daniel were Ashlynn (who is 2) and Abby were busy destroying it.

Friday was a PERFECT day. I wish I had a picture of Ryan and his family. The girls had fun with the sand and putting their feet in the water. Daniel and Ryan were like little kids themselves dodging waves, and ended up soaked. Thank you Ryan, Kyla and Ashlynn for letting us share this special day with you!

On Sunday, July 27 we celebrated Daniel's 27th birthday. We had a ton of people in our house! We ate bbq and everyone brought yummy side dishes.

Daniel got gift cards, golf balls, and a golf club for his birthday. I think its a putter...I am not sure. Not the golfing kind. Give me a golf cart and a Mike's Hard Lemonade and thats golfing for me. His mom told me that his dad took a lot of care picking out just the right club for him.

Happy Birthday babe! You are such a great husband and father. Abby and I love you so much!

I am looking forward to August. Maybe a little rest......then work! YUCK!

The Last of My Candles

I know you are all on the edge of your seats wanting to know the latest about my drooping candles. I am welcoming this relief of hot weather today. But here is a picture from last week. I think its time I let go.

My Two Favorite People

How cute is this picture! I take a daily walk with a friend of mine in the morning. When I came home this is what I saw. I just had to capture the moment. Daniel is such a great dad. Whenever Abby Jo sees him she just lights up. I am the luckiest girl in the world!

Hot as H-E- double hockey sticks

Don't get me wrong, I love the sun and the warm weather. But when it is so hot that the candles in your house start to droop and melt, then you have reached the point of TOO HOT! I recently turned 31! OMGosh!!! My wonderful brother and his wife bought us a one room AC. I was so excited. However, we decided to turn it into a ceiling fan for Abby. I am so so excited about that. Her room is so nice and cool now. We have a ceiling fan too and love it. They are actually nice. I hope all of you are surviving the warm weather. I'll update you on the candle situation soon. he he

Playing Catch Up

Some of you may have not seen or heard from me in a long time. For this, I am very sorry. It is sad that we can me so busy and forget to keep those connections between family and friends. This is just a quick little summary about what has happened to Daniel and I in the last three years.
Daniel and I met a little over three years ago. I knew I met the guy I was going to marry the second our conversation started. Not only was he HOT, he was a "mans, man." I love his personality, and his caring nature. We can be so opposite, yet very much the same. I know that it doesn’t sound like it makes sense, but we balance each other out. Everything about our relationship was comfortable. Daniel was the first guy I did not feel insecure around or felt that I needed to question where we were at in terms of out relationship. It just happened. 7 months later we were engaged. My favorite line from him as he popped the question was, "I am ass over tea kettle in love with you." I said yes and 9 months later we had the most beautiful wedding ever!
Now, here is something to remember….I am 4 years older (but look younger…he he) than Daniel. I warned him from the beginning that I did not want to wait years and years to have babies. Momma is not getting any younger. But I left it at that. I did not pressure. 6 months after we were married we decided to stop with the birth control and see what happens. Let God do his "thang." Well, 4 months later I broke my elbow (walking my dog….long story), and apparently I got pregnant that month too! April was a busy month J . I found out I had a bun in the oven Mothers day. We were both in shock! She was due January 20th, 2008.
Mean while, I got a new teaching job at Forest Ridge Elementary School. I love it there!
As my third trimester came around things started to happen. I looked huge! I was swelling up and I was all BELLY! Everyone who saw me said I would not make my due date. I just brushed it off because the statistics for a first time baby coming early were low. I was beginning to look like Shrek. This is not an over exaggeration. Long story short, Abigail Johanna Brown was 5 weeks early. My water broke to my surprise on Dec. 17th while we were making cookies. She came December 18th, at 2:31 pm weighing in at 7 pounds 3 ounces. Praise the Lord she came early!!!
We have been overjoyed ever since. I look forward to posting many stories. I plan to do a lot of posting this month to catch up on things. So stay tuned!

Blog Virgin

So I am attempting to blog for the first time in my life! This is a technological turning point for me. For some odd reason I have tried to stay away from the whole "Blog" thing for as long as possible. For two very good reasons....1. I had no clue what it was (until this year) and 2. I hadn't the slightest clue how to do it. My new teaching job brought up blogging, so our students parents could keep in close touch with us, and kind of get a feel for what is going on in the classroom. I was pregnant at the time and felt my blood pressure rising!! You have to understand that pretty much everyone on staff at Forest Ridge is a wiz with technology. I had to ask the dreaded question.....What in the world is a blog!? To my relief no one laughed. However, my daughter came 5 weeks early and I missed out on the whole "here is how you start your blog" in-service. So.....here it goes. Many of my friends are blogging about thier families and recording their childrens milestones, and special days. I want to create a place to record and share our family memories. My hope is, one day my little girl will be able to read these and revisit some old memories.
