Ruby Mae Turns 2!

Yesterday, July 20th my baby girl Ruby Mae Elizabeth Brown turned 2!!  And in true Ruby Mae fashion she fell down the garage steps and bruised her forehead.
This years party theme was Minnie Mouse!  I spent the night before in my hot kitchen baking the cakes so I could frost them on the big day.  Well, Miss Ruby woke up the next morning before the rest of us, and decided she was hungry.  I discovered holes in each cake I baked.  Thank goodness for lots of frosting!!
When Ruby Mae woke up from her nap she discovered the cake while I was out of the room.  Can you tell she had a little snack? I tried to fix it, but I was making it worse.  It is HER birthday after all!
Ruby started out with clothes, but decided her birthday suit was way better.  Here she is with her two cousins Ashlynn, and Michael.
She just needed a quick taste before she blew out the candles.

Of course she loved the presents!  All the kids got excited.  At first they were all sitting back and watching, but as each gift was opened they got closer and closer.  It was pretty funny!

As the night went on she got stickier, and dirtier.  Ice cream, cake and suckers!  OH MY!
All of our wonderful family and friends who came to celebrate our beautiful girl!

I wish you could see all the chocolate ice cream smeared all over her tummy.  Like I said, it's her birthday!
She is showing you that she is 2

Happy Birthday America!

Every year on the 4th of July we get up early and head to  Mollala for their 4th of July parade.  The wait really stinks, but when the parade comes, the kids go wild!

Trying to get all 4 of these kids to look and stay in the same spot is a challenge!  But we got a few good shots.

Doughnuts are also part of the tradition.  These girls ate a Mcd's breakfast before we got there, but of course there is always room for doughnuts.  They must get that from me!

Ruby Mae was such a trooper.  Like I said, the wait is long, but the kids did great!

Our sweet cousin Andrea.  She is pregnant with a little boy who is due soon!
Again doughnuts.  I was trying to keep Ruby Mae out of them since she only licks the top, and I really didn't want her to get chocolate every where ( I know, party pooper mom!).  She some how grabbed this one fast, and enjoyed every lick!

 Auntie Katie, and Uncle Kyle
 Auntie Jodi and Auntie Nana
The Harrison's (Brevin's arm is in there too)
After the parade we went to lunch, then headed home for a much needed nap.  For dinner we headed to Auntie Nana's and Uncle Nick's house for a delicious BBQ.  They have the best place for kids!
Finally the fire works began.  Abby loved it this year.  She actually got involved and helped.

Darn!  What a cute couple!

We had a great day with family and friends.  I am so thankful to live in a country where we are free and have rights.  Thank you Lord for all you have blessed my family with, and where you placed us in this world.

June 2013

At first June started off pretty slow and rainy.  But once that sun came out we embraced it!  Summer has been filled with jumping on our friends trampoline.  Abby and her friend Addison are always together.  They are a pretty cute pair!

 At Addison's birthday party!
Daniel and I celebrated 7 wonderful years together.  Our friends JJ and Jaime watched the girls while we went and had dinner together.  It was nice to get our and spend some time alone.
This is our first water melon of the season and boy did the girls eat it up!  I think between the three of us, we ate half of that melon.  It was so nice on a hot day!

Spending time with daddy by the pool!  There is nothing like sticking our feet in the pool, and enjoying the breeze in the shade.  Soon after this picture was taken both girls were running around naked in the yard and jumping in the water.

June was also the month my baby became a little girl.  Daniel took down the side of her crib to make it a day toddler bed.  She loved it and has to show everyone who comes over!  So far she has done great, and stayed in bed the whole time.  She has also slept through the night ( keeping her up late, may have helped)!
Looking forward to July!
